Behind the Album

When an oyster produces a luminescent pearl, it is the result of an irritant that has entered it’s inner sanctum. The oyster produces thin layers of a substance called nacre, surrounding the intruder, creating a lustrous gem in the process. Sapphire’s song writing reveals a similar transformation, where one of life’s challenges initiates a reflective adjustment, a deep inner work, a revelation of unveiled truth or a healing process forged over time. This results in the manifestation of something transcendent, beautiful and healing.

“Face The Music”

Song and Lyrics by Sapphire Khol©️Ⓟ Copyright and Publishing 2026

When the thing that set you free
Has you tangled up in chains
When the song you used to sing
Wants to turn another page

You’ve got to face the music
Let your heart strings lead the way
Face the music
The music of today

Face the music
So your heart can keep the beat
Face the music
Let the music guide your feet

(flute interlude)

When your chest is feeling heavy
Like you don’t know where to turn
And your glass is kind of empty
Like there’s something else to learn

You’ve got to face the music
Let your heart strings lead the way
Face the music
The music of today

Yeah, face the music
So your heart can keep the beat
Face the music
Let the music guide your feet

(Cello solo)

bridge

There’s a song we’re all a part of
Like a giant symphony
Made up of little notes
Just like you and me

(Choral outro)

That’s why you’ve got to face the music
Let your heart strings lead the way
Face the music
The music of today

Oh, you gotta face the music
So your heart can keep the beat
Face the music
Let the music guide your feet

“Something Beautiful”

Song and Lyrics by Sapphire Khol©️Ⓟ Copyright and Publishing 2026

How many times does Merry go round
‘Til she finally hits the ground
Spinning ‘round the stories in her head
Does she ever get
To find her way out of it
Oooohhh

I stayed up all night again
Closed my eyes there you were when
I remembered something that you said
That stayed in my head
It’s been hard to forget

You said “All I know
Is when the heart breaks
The tears that flow help light my way
Through the shadows and the darkest days
To the place to grow something beautiful”
Oooohhh

Piano solo

‘Round and ‘round was the way I went
Figuring out how the story ends
All the while the sweet song of regret
Played in my head, falling asleep to forget

But now I know that when the heart breaks
The tears that flow, help light my way
Through the shadows and the darkest days
To a place to grow something beautiful….oooohhhh

(instrumental bridge- guitar and pedal steel)

So step up to the looking glass
To see behind the faces that you painted
And rearrange them
The sorrows that you know
Are all stepping stones
So use the pain to help you let go

And all I know
Is when the heart breaks
The tears that flow, help light my way
Through the shadows and the darkest days
To a place to grow something beautiful…
Oooohhhooo
Oooohhhooo

(Guitar and pedal steel outro)

“Runaway Train”

Song and Lyrics by Sapphire Khol©️Ⓟ Copyright and Publishing 2026

Something tells me he’s aint stickin’ around
It keeps dryin’ up in this watery town
He keeps trying to get lost
When he’s never even been found

And he keeps singin’ about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train
Yeah he keeps singin’ about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train

Sometimes I wonder when
I’ll get out of this place
I keep turning corners and seeing his face
And  I try to forget
But some things are just hard to erase

Like when I hear him singin’ about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train
Like when I hear him singin’ about rain
Like a hobo on a runaway train

Flute Solo
Ooh, ooh, ooh…
Ooh, ooh, ooh…
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh…
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh…

I hear the thunder inside my head
As I’m carried away to the land of the dead
Holding my heart, easing the pain
Hoping it’s gone by the end of the day

Oh that’s when I hear him singin’ about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train
That’s when I hear him singing about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train

Violin Solo
Ooh, ooh, ooh….
Ooh, ooh, ooh…
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh…
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh…

Sometimes I wonder why I make such a fuss
And hold on so tight with this body of lust
When one’s thing’s for sure
In the end this body’s just dust

Oh but he’ll still be singin’ about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train
Yeah he’ll still be singin’ about rain
Like a hobo, on a runaway train

I hear him singin’ about rain
Like a hobo on a runaway train

Reviews

“In an era when so much music thrusts itself upon us with a hard-driving beat,  aggressive lyrics, and vapid messaging, Sapphire Khol’s debut album What You Couldn’t See Before draws gently alongside us, sharing a reflective journey of life through music. Rather than intruding with a frenetic and domineering sound, the album arrives like a soundtrack for our own existence. It beckons softly and offers impressions that give the listener space to notice what they may not have seen before.”
